1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the online research, audits, strategy documents, and advisory services described in the Brentorin Chapter catalog. It addresses professional services rather than the return of physical merchandise. The published prices are starting prices in USD; the accepted written scope identifies what has actually been ordered, paid for, and scheduled.
A specific written engagement can explain milestones and cancellation arrangements for that work. It cannot remove a right that applicable law does not allow the parties to waive. This policy should be read with the Terms & Conditions, Service Delivery Policy, and, where relevant, Subscription & Billing Policy.
2. How to make a request
Send a cancellation or refund request directly to strategy@brentorinchapter.com and identify your name, company, service, invoice or engagement reference if available, the relevant dates, and the reason for the request. Explain whether you want to stop future work, address a delivery issue, or correct a billing problem. Do not include card security codes, passwords, or full account credentials.
The website form does not send information. Preparing a brief or seeing its confirmation is not a cancellation notice and does not notify a manager. Send your request through direct correspondence and keep a copy. You may use the displayed phone number to discuss the issue, but a written record is useful to establish the instructions and timing.
3. Cancellation before work starts
If a paid engagement is cancelled before any work has begun, the normal treatment is to return the prepaid service fees for work not performed. A separately disclosed and approved nonrecoverable third-party cost may need different treatment, but it must be identifiable, actually incurred, and permitted under the agreement and applicable law. There is no general restocking charge for these services.
A deposit does not become nonrefundable merely because it is called a deposit. Any proposed reservation fee or cancellation charge must be stated clearly before acceptance and must have a lawful, reasonable basis. Undisclosed penalties or charges for work that was neither performed nor properly committed are not part of the published starting scopes.
4. Cancellation after work begins
If work has begun, the assessment should distinguish completed work, work in progress, unperformed future work, and any approved nonrecoverable third-party expense. The written scope and any agreed milestones provide the first reference. The amount retained should relate to work actually performed or a clearly agreed and lawful commitment, rather than an arbitrary percentage.
We should provide a reasonable explanation of the calculation and the status of the work. Prepaid amounts attributable to unperformed work are refundable after accounting for the lawful amount due. If the parties disagree about a material part of the calculation, the undisputed portion should be identified rather than using the disagreement to imply a waiver of either party’s rights.
5. Material omissions, errors, and nonconforming work
If a deliverable materially fails to match the accepted scope, tell us what is missing or inaccurate and provide enough detail to review it. The appropriate response may be a correction, completion of an omitted item, a revised delivery plan, or a proportionate or full refund where warranted by the circumstances and applicable law.
A request for a correction should not be confused with a change of strategy, a newly added audience, extra competitors, a larger product range, or implementation not included in the engagement. Those may be new work. Equally, describing a request as new work does not excuse a failure to deliver an item that was expressly included in the accepted scope.
6. Strategic opinions and business results
A research report or strategy can involve reasoned opinions, assumptions, and recommendations. A recommendation may differ from your initial expectation without being defective. A later change in market conditions or an outcome below your target does not alone establish that an agreed service was not performed.
That distinction does not remove a remedy for a false representation, material error, undisclosed limitation, nonperformance, or other actionable conduct. We do not condition a review on your accepting an unsupported claim about guaranteed results. Any complaint is considered against the actual agreed work, evidence, communications, and applicable rights.
7. Consultations and rescheduling
A consultation inquiry through the website does not book a call or charge a fee. For any paid appointment, the duration, price, preparation, rescheduling terms, and cancellation treatment must be provided before you accept the booking. The catalog’s service fee is not automatically a consultation reservation charge.
If an agreed session needs to be moved, give direct notice as soon as reasonably possible. Where a session cannot take place because of our unavailability, an appropriate new date or refund for the undelivered session should be offered. Any client cancellation charge must be disclosed in advance and lawful; there is no undisclosed no-show penalty in the website form.
8. Monthly advisory and future cycles
Monthly Retail Intelligence Advisory starts at $1,400 per month for the written monthly scope. You may request that a future cycle not renew before its renewal or billing date, subject to any more protective applicable right. The website does not itself create automatic renewal, a minimum term, or authorization for recurring payment.
Cancellation of future cycles does not automatically erase a charge for a current cycle already properly authorized and delivered. However, a prepaid future cycle that will not be provided should be refunded, and a material current-cycle failure should be assessed on its own facts. A refund or cancellation request should not be obstructed by unnecessary retention offers, undisclosed notice periods, or a requirement to buy another service.
9. Timing, processing, and billing corrections
After receiving a sufficiently identified request, we aim to acknowledge it within two business days and explain any information needed for review. Straightforward requests should be addressed promptly; complex requests may need additional time to establish the work status or payment record. These service targets do not extend a legal deadline or reduce a mandatory remedy.
An approved refund is ordinarily returned through the original payment method where that is available and appropriate. Processing time can depend on the payment provider and bank; a five-to-ten-business-day posting window after initiation may be a reasonable estimate, not a guarantee. A duplicate charge, incorrect amount, or charge without the required authorization should be raised promptly and investigated. No refund requires you to disclose a card security code or online banking password.
10. Disputes and preserved rights
Please give us enough information to investigate a concern, but you are not required to give up a lawful dispute, chargeback, reporting, or consumer-protection right as a condition of asking for help. Nothing in this policy authorizes misleading statements to a payment provider, retaliatory charges, or an automatic penalty for raising a legitimate issue.
Missouri and other applicable nonwaivable law continue to apply. No sentence in this policy is a blanket waiver of remedies for deceptive practices or a claim that all services are exempt from consumer protection. The date at the top identifies the version. A later website update does not retroactively remove an accepted refund right for an existing engagement.

Final scope, applicable taxes, approved expenses, payment timing, and delivery dates are confirmed in writing before an engagement begins. The monthly advisory fee is a monthly starting price; all other listed starting fees are for one-time engagements.
